I heard yesterday that lake Rosebery in the west of Tasmania was spilling from alot of rain. Being that i was not required at work today i took a trip out to the Bastyan Power Station and Bastyan Dam on Lake Rosebery. This is part of the Pieman River Power Scheme being the third power station.
Being commisioned in 1983 and has a single turbine that can generate 81 megawatts. This lake does not spill over very often maybe a couple of times a year. So i made the most of the good timing. The water from here flows into lake Pieman to be used again in the Reece power station.
I hope you enjoy these photos of my time looking around this interesting place. This is all free to do if your wondering and want to have a look around yourself sometime.
