Prayer is a commandment of Christ.
As Christians, we must research and investigate everything in order to discover the truth. We must not believe every spirit we encounter.
1 john 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
You don't have to keep repeating your prayers since God has already heard you even before you pray; it's like the English proverb "A word is enough for the wise," thus God isn't difficult to communicate with and isn't deaf.
Matthew 6:5-7 “And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. 7 And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words.
There are many false teachers that have gone out into the world to deceive and mislead people.
2 peter 2:1 But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction.
We must follow the teachings of the great teacher, Jesus Christ. God has given him the sole authority to teach his message.
The bible, as God's word, is a standard, and it is the standard by which we as Christians live.
We have to evaluate everything and hold fast to what is good while removing any appearances of evil.
1 Thessalonians 5:22 but test them all;hold on to what is good,22. reject every kind of evil.
When we have nowhere else to turn or no one to turn to in our time of need, we can turn to God in prayer.
Praying is a Christian commandment.
The bible says God does not hear the prayers of sinners.
John 9:31 Now we know that God does not hear sinners; but if anyone is a worshiper of God and does His will, He hears him.
Prayer is not done to show off.
Matthew 6:5 When you pray, you shall not be as the hypocrites, for. they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men.
When the early Christians prayed, they did so on their knees. Although kneeling is the proper posture for praying to God, we pray while standing if the space around us does not allow us to kneel.
Acts 20:35-36 I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.
36.And when he had thus spoken, he kneeled down, and prayed with them all.
