To win back Abigail's favor and support the family, I began performing chores around the ranch, hauling heavy hay bales across Beecher's Hope. I placed the feed inside the barn and stables, earning honor while checking on young Jack, who was working hard to clean a sheep by himself.
Trying to win back my lady's heart, I took her advice to heart and got straight to work around the ranch, knowing full well that Abigail can't stand seeing me sitting idle inside the house just like my wife in reality, lol.
Looking around the property, I spotted several heavy hay bales that needed to be moved to their designated feeding points. Determined to do my fair share for the family, I hoisted the first bale onto my shoulder and carried it across the yard.
Though I had the option to drop the task at any point, I stuck with it, eventually reaching the first feeding point right at the entrance of the barn where I placed the load down.
Scanning the area, I counted at least three more hay bales scattered across the dirt that needed my attention. Walking over to the next one, I heaved it up and carried the heavy weight toward the stables.
Inside, I noticed a single cow resting quietly in her stall, though there were no horses in sight. Dropping the bale into the feeding trough, I noticed a small bump to my honor, proving that honest ranch work still carries its own rewards.
I walked back out to retrieve the third bale, carrying it back toward the stable structure to locate the next target spot. Stepping inside once more, I deposited the feed on the opposite side of the aisle.
As I set it down, I caught sight of little Jack working nearby, diligently trying to clean a sheep all by himself in the corner of the barn.
Sprinting back out into the yard, I went after the fourth and final hay bale to wrap up the chore. As I reached down to pick it up, I heard Uncle laughing out loud from across the property.
Looking over, I saw him sharing a laugh alongside Abigail, which immediately rubbed me the wrong way. I called out and suggested Uncle shut his mouth for once, prompting Abigail to turn around and walk right back inside the house without saying much to me.
Hauling the last heavy hay bale back toward the barn area, I found Jack still struggling to scrub down the sheep. The boy looked up at me and asked if he was doing the job right, to which John replied that Jack was doing fine, though he was definitely asking the wrong man for livestock advice.
He mentioned he just wanted to do a good job, so I gave him his space and let the kid continue his hard work. I dropped the last hay bale into its proper place, completing the chore just as Jack finished up his task and walked out of the barn into the evening air.
Here I'm finishing the post for today, and I'll talk about more special RDR 2 gaming moments in Gaming Photography.
