When a marriage is in distress couples complain by saying " I can't take it anymore"!.
When couples gets married at first their love life is filled with so much glow, happiness and passion for each other. But as times goes on they get to learn of the imperfections of each other.
These imperfections have lead many partners to become disillusioned with their partners, with their marriage, with their love and sometimes even with their life.
Some marriages today are most times filled with so much stress and anxieties which has to do with demanding jobs, partners working long hours just to meet the demands of their partners.
These can sap the emotional reserves of even the devoted couples.
But even with all the distress in marriage, marriages can still be a successful and a happy union between two individuals.
Marriage can be likened to a journey that presents many surprises.
We humans are not immune to unforeseen circumstances which can happen at any time.
But how can married couples make their marriage a successful one.
The first step is to treat your marriage as something that is sacred, something that was yoked together by God.
God is the one that instituted marriages when he created the first man Adam and eve.
Back then it was a three fold cord because God was with them and their marriage.
Marriages can thrive very well if couples apply the principles in the Bible. They need to recognise that God is the creator of marriage and he can speak to them through the principles found in the, which can govern marriages and make them a successful one.
Wives should always learn to speak to their husband in a respectful way.
Most women speak so thoughtlessly to their husbands. These shows that you don't recognise his authority as the head of the home and it could be very damaging to you and your partner.
I've come to understand that most conversations end the way they start.
That means if a conversation starts in a respectful way it it is more likely to end in that way.
If couples find it very difficult to respect or speak to themselves in a respectful way they can include that weakness into prayer.
These can go a long way in ensuring that they speak to each other with respect, affection and dignity.
Forgiveness is an another vital aspect in making marriage a successful one.
Nobody can escape their own imperfections.
Especially that of their spouse.
So forgiveness is very important I'm marriage.
There's this proverb I like very much which is found at proverbs 19:11 who says that "it is beauty to pass over transgressions".
So when a spouse make a mistake it is important he/she puts in effort to say "I am sorry dear I made a mistake".
When there's humility in a marriage it helps build trust and improve the peace in a marriage.
It can also increase the peace of mind if the couple.
