The movie, Wreck It Ralph breaks the Internet, has several important lessons that we must understand and at the same time reflect with ourselves. It shows some things about the internet, friendship, taking risks, respect, and the things that we have to think before doing any actions.
In the first part of the movie they encountered a new plugged in, WIFI, which made them so curious about it. They have no idea and wanted to enter and explore it, but the security guy warned them that it’s dangerous to go inside. Just like in real life, once you entered the internet it will allow you to access a lot of things and it’s up to you how you handle your safeness because there can be a lot of troubles and problems that you might get in to; like bullying, scams, cybersex, hurtful comments from different people about you or in other words bashing and judging each other, and etc.
The movie also tries to imply that whatever problems you encounter in your life, there will be always a person that will help you, which is your friend. He/she can be your friend at the same time your hero, sibling, and family. Ralph acted as hero and sibling to Princess Vanellope. He is doing his best to protect her from any danger. They are also like a family because Ralph will do the things that will make Vanellope happy. Like when she is asking for a new track in her racing game, and Ralph did it to make her happy, but it did not go that way because that’s the reason why the game crashed. Vanellope became sad about it and Ralph did not want that to happen, so he decided to go in the internet with Vanellope.
Another thing that we might learn is about taking risk, which can be seen in the movie when they entered the Internet. They took a risk to buy the steering wheel and fix the game in no time. They encountered a lot of things inside and it seems that it’s not that dangerous compare on what the security guy said, but they are wrong because there are a lot of danger hiding behind the internet that they’ll encounter on the latter part of the movie. In this part, you will learn another lessons in friendship and things about internet. They went in the Ebay and looked for the steering wheel. After seeing the wheel, they bid for it, said some high amount of numbers and surprisingly won the bid for $27,001. They thought that it was that easy, until they were asked for a credit card number which talks about real money. This part tries to give us a lesson that we need to have some basic knowledge on the things that we are doing or we might put ourselves in danger. They were panicking on how to get that huge amount of money, so they did everything like getting some help on the scam and making some videos on the Buzz Tube. While they are earning and collecting money, princess Vanellope found some new friends and wanted to stay in for the rest of her life which made Ralph jealous. He did not want Vanellope to do it, so he decided to make a wrong and dangerous move which put Vanellope in danger. He put a virus in the “Slaughter Racing Game” and the virus spread which affected a lot of people in the internet.
In the part where they put the virus down, there were several important points to learn. It’s about the actions that we are doing. We have to think very carefully on doing some actions in our life. We have to think first if we can benefit from it and will be a great help or will it cause danger to you and to somebody else. Just like in the internet, we have to “think before you click” to save yourself from different crimes that is currently happening inside the internet. Not all the things that you see is true, that’s why you need to analyse and examine every details of the information/facts in the internet. Make sure that the source of the information is credible and reliable. We also need to be mature enough especially on our friends. We help, protect and love each other, but that does not mean that we have control on what they should do and not to. We should respect each other’s decision because they have their own life and needs, so let them go to do what they want.
