We do not usually travel to Metro Manila unless there is an important matter or an special event. However, since the IC was hosted here in the Philippines this year, we saw it as a rare and wonderful opportunity to witness and experience the beautiful brotherhood we share firsthand.
As province dwellers, staying in Metro Manila for five days proved to be quite a challenging adjustment. The fast-paced city life presented a real struggle for us, especially when it came to daily travel. Every day, we had to commute from our accommodation to the event venue, a journey that typically took around 45 minutes each way via a Transport Network Vehicle Service (TNVS).
We specifically opted for TNVS because of the convenience it offered; it allowed us to travel directly without the hassle of transferring through three different modes of public transit. Even so, this choice came with its own set of hurdles. During peak hours, booking a ride became incredibly difficult due to the high demand, and the fare rates would spike significantly. To manage our expenses, we often had to walk a considerable distance away from the crowded venue to an area where the passenger demand—and consequently, the fare—dropped down. It was during these long walks that these accompanying photos were captured.
