Hi all. I'm back for another edition of Three Tune Tuesday. If you're not familiar with Three Tune Tuesday, it's hosted by ablaze@ablaze.

If you're not familiar with Three Tune Tuesday here is more about it in ablaze@ablaze's own words:

The jist is as follows
Every Tuesday I'm going to share 3 songs which I like to listen to and I invite your feedback in the comments below. Better still, why not have a blast of your own Three Tune Tuesday and mention me in the post and I'll come and find the post and upvote it. It'll be a sweet way for us all to discover new music. You'll also be in with a chance of winning a prize.

Last week, in my very first #ttt post, I shared one of the songs from my Walk On Songs playlist. For this week, I thought I'd share a bit more about that playlist and some songs that are on it. And - encourage you to build your own similar playlist.

What is a Walk On Song's Playlist?

Imagine you're the featured speaker or a big award winner at a conference or event celebrating and honoring all the amazing work you've done in your life. The emcee comes out and warms up the crowd a bit and then shares all of the amazing accolades about your life. Then, their voice raises and they say - And now it's my pleasure to introduce our guest of honor - . What song plays as you take the stage to thunderous applause and a standing ovation?

I think the origin story of wherever I got this from is actually the Major League Baseball "walk up song". According to a few sources I found (here, here, and here), every major league baseball player has their own Walk Up Song. I haven't been to a major league baseball game live so I've missed this phenomenon.

The other place where Walk On Songs are done so incredibly well is the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. The Roots are absolutely incredible! And for any guest they pick the perfect walk on song. Rather than putting up some random guest, I thought I'd share The Roots and Ed Sheerhan doing one of my favorite songs, The Shape of You

Why make a Walk On Song Playlist?

I have used my Walk On Song playlist in moments when I needed to build my own confidence.

  • Presenting to a large group? The Walk On Songs playlist often accompanies me as I drive to the venue.
  • Starting a new class? I'm probably listening to Walk On Songs as I walk to class
  • Have a big exam and you've studied hard? It's time for the Walk On Songs playlist

I think everyone should have a Walk On Song playlist. I hope you'll include what you would put on your Walk On Song playlist in the comments.

So What's On The List?

Freedom by Pharrell Williams

My most important personal value is freedom and so my list has to start with Freedom by Pharrell Williams

American Kids by Kenny Chesney

The first time I heard this, I thought "this perfectly describes my youth" and so this is a song that makes me smile fondly at the roots where I came from.

Single Ladies by Beyonce

I mean, it's basically my life anthem. I'm a single lady and no one has decided to put a ring on it.

What's on your Walk On Songs playlist?

So, I hope I inspired you to build your walk on songs playlist? If so, what's on it?
