Hi everybody
This is my first post in english. I'm from Venezuela, and I love pets and plants. I've written some post about them, specially dogs, cats and flower/
One of the wonders of living in the tropics, is the variety of fauna and flora that we can find. Venezuela, particularly, has one of the largest varieties of wild flora, especially orchids, many of which reach the cities thanks to the indigenous people who move from the forest to the cities.
I am fond of taking care of orchids, although in an empirical way, because I do not have studies about it. At home I have a variety of these plants, some of which are native species of the Guayana region, where I reside. Today I want to present you with a species known vulgarly as "Viudita".
It is a beautiful and rare flower with five petals of hard and dark appearance (a green and brown tone) and a large lip (or central petal) white with a violet center. This flower measures approximately 4 cm at its most opposite ends.
It grows in a bunch or "stick" in which many of these flowers are observed.
This species possesses an exquisite fragrance, which is expelled at certain times of the day, especially in the early morning, perfuming the entire garden. besides that, it is a very durable flower, since its bunch can remain blooming for about a month.
This plant also has bloom three times a year so they permanently adorn our home
