MY ENTRY

TITLE: Strenght Amidst Fear

This is an original painting I made for an art exhibit.
size: 4ftx4.5ft
medium: Latex on canvass

the story behind:

I have always been a slave to the emotional side of being an artist. What I feel is what I produce. I invest emotions on almost all of my artworks and this is one of them.

This painting signifies a time in everyone's lives where we feel alone. It depicts a time when everything seems wrong. It is as if all the judgments in the world matters, and every thing you do deserves to be judged. Nothing matters as of the moment, even if you disappear or even die, the world will still carry on. It hurts but it is the truth.

However, that truth cannot pull me down. If I am alone, then I have no one else to back my side, but me. If I am afraid, then I have no one to tap my shoulders but me. I am afraid but I have to be strong, because it's me.

The epiphany I got from watching my painting and from actually doing it is this: in times of far, insecurity and self doubt, pull yourself up and be the tiger that you have to be. You have to do it because you are doing it for yourself!

And then it hit me, one of the few things that I really wish to do with my life is to inspire someone. I want to touch someone's life so much that they, can genuinely say that if they have never met me then they wouldn't be the person they are today.

I want to save someone. Save them from this cold, dark and lonely world. I wish to be someone's hero. Someone that people would look up to. I only wish to make a change, even if it's a small one.

I just want to do more than exist.
