After a long time, I looked reviews for some new computer games and I realized that the games have a perfect graphics and they look so perfect that I'm not sure whether it's a movie, a reality or a common computer game. But in none of these games I haven’t found "soul". All the new games are simply ... well I do not know how to describe it, but they are empty.
I remember old MS-DOS games, which we played day and night. Games with simple barely visible graphics. Hours and hours spent in front a computer playing games with friends.
Well, I would like to mention several games, which were (for me) among the top 10 games
One of the first game i played on my PC was
Wolfenstein 3D an old, first-person shooter game in which we were a hero who killed the Nazis.
After it came to the line of strategy:
Dune 2 battle for Arakis .... hours and hours spent looking at grainy graphics, building structures and destroying enemies.
Then there were sim games: SimCity 2000, SimPark ...
Of course I must mention Sid Meier’s Civilization and Civilization 2.
And what about game called
"Where in the World Is Carmen Sandiego?", An old game with no graphic art in which we had to catch Carmen Sandiego who was fleeing around the world.
There was a good old UFO enemy unknown games, UFO Terror from the deep.
I remember an old game, but i forgot the name, but it is about a taxi driver who has different delivery tasks. The cab was, of course, equipped with various weapons (machine guns, flame launchers, bombs, ...).
There were also games: Elite, Golden Axe, Operation wolf, UGH and UGH 2, Scorched Earth. C & C Red Alert, StarCraft, Alone in the Dark,.....
Now the question is: What games would be better?
Games with desperate grain graphics or better to say without graphics but with stories and soul or new games with perfect graphics bat without “soul”......
Hard question, but for me easy answer .....Old games with the soul
(If anyone remember some good old game I did not mention please feel free to write it down).
