VAR again caused a major controversy as Manchester United beat Huddersfield to book their spot in the FA Cup quarter-final on Saturday.

The system was called upon during the first half at the John Smith's Stadium after Juan Mata had made a run in behind the Huddersfield defence and rounded Jonas
Lossl to put United 2-0 up.

Referee Kevin Friend called for VAR assistance despite minimal protests from the Huddersfield players. In retrospect Mata looked just as he did in full speed, level with the defender.
