How to educate our children for a world we don't even know how it will look like 10 years from now? We are the first generation to face this challenge of such a steep step. For millennia the world moved so slowly that raising a child was easy, teach him what you know and that's it, problem solved, his life will be almost exactly like yours. In the industrial revolution, the world started to turn faster, but still, the majority just needed to learn some basic reading and math to work in a factory. As the world progressed more and more people needed to understand logic and arguments to be able to solve complex problems, working in a corporation, in front of a computer. This in essence is not so different, only the job became more difficult, the structure, well, pretty much the same thing.
This century, this next years, the world will be transformed for the first time, truly transformed. No one knows what form will all this take, one thing is for certain, it will be a wild ride.
As the world becomes more independent, as systems help decentralize, brake down monopolies, state power, corporate power, religious power, favorable position power etc., it just blossoms. I see it like the adolescence of human kind. Interconnected, independent, proud, and smart. In the future, just around the corner, we will be able to produce, coordinate, be virtually everywhere you want from your home.
This incredible change that is about to happen, already happening, brings a big question for parents. What will we do different to our children's education?
One thing is clear for me, they will need to be INDEPENDENT. The first quality, without which they can't succeed 20 years from now. The competitiveness at a global scale will bring great opportunity, yet will put a strain on people that can't manage their lives and are dependent on others.
We could be individual actors in this economy of the world, with a free flow of people between different organisational structures, no bosses, only tasks to complete, work with, not for. Become a brand, not the employee of the month.
We will see the fall in power for the gate keepers, because there will be no gates to keep. Imagine the wonderful flow of intelligence, seeking the most productive way to be expressed.
This children, should be individuals, Individualism not Collectivism will give them the best start in life. In a world that moves too creative thinking, only people with unique and personal minds will create a mark, a beautiful mark.
Let's release the human spirit, for too long it was trapped, chained by our lack of knowledge, our infancy.
The third thing a child should accept is morality. Without this key block in the blockchain, the world stops. You can have wonderful systems, brilliantly planned and secured, if people just want to smash it to peaces, they will.
Do this with your child, speak with him, encourage him to think, make him feel secure, loved, and he will love the world. He will be part of it, move it, grow with it.
