*Boys (13.2%) were more likely than girls (5.6%) to have ever been diagnosed with ADHD.
Wow, this disease seems so bad, I am sure that the science it very well established in this case. We are in fact medicating over 1 in 10 children for this. I believe that doctors don't just hand out medication to calm children that are not suffering from this condition. I believe, I believe!
I will place here a video of two children, one has been diagnosticated with ADHD the other one is "normal"
Can you spot the difference?
Symptoms for the 3 types of ADHD:
Inattentive
Hyperactive
Impulsive
If you take this symptoms and apply them to every child in the world, you can put the diagnostic. Maybe that's why over 6 mil children in US are prognosticated with this so called disease.
I think the medical community has mistakenly put childhood on the list of mental diseases.
The way it is diagnosticated
Basically parents and teachers diagnose the disease, if that is the method. Let's be honest, what could a teacher say if a child is not paying attention? That he is a boring teacher, or that the child has a mental problem?... well :)
Same with the parent, the child has so much energy, running around the house, does the parent say, I think I must take the child to a sport to lose the excess energy, I am so happy I have a healthy energetic child. No let's pop some pills so he/she sits quiet in the corner. All that without remorse, because "he/she is sick".
I know some MRI scans show a decreased level of activity in the areas that are associated with focus, but nothing dramatic, as some scientists say.(it can be improved with practice, like all mental abilities) Do you think your brain activity levels would be exactly the same with another, no, each brain is slightly different that's why we don't act the same. (And this is not used in the diagnostic)
What we find in the end, after all the BS has settled on the floor, It's the sad truth, with the 0.01% of children that may have a problem that could be called ADHD, another 11% are medicated just because they are inconvenient to their parent, teachers, and all the other boring people in this world.
We are medicating the next Mozart, Einstein, Tesla, and all for a moment of peace and quiet to wash the dishes.
The side effects of the medication for ADHD.
EMOTIONAL PROBLEMS. When the dosage is too high, stimulants can cause children or even adults to seem "spacey" or "zombie-like," or to be uncharacteristically tearful or irritable (a condition known as emotional lability). In general, the best way to rein in these side effects is simply to lower the dosage.
Really would you give something to your kid that can make him zombie-like?
I don't think playing russian roulette with your child's brain is a good idea. Better than medication, you can get the child to a therapist, at least that will not damage them in the long term.
In the end, I think it's our obsession with conformity, collective mediocrity that we feel the need to make every brain the same. Oh, do you have some behavior that is not in this narrow limit? You are sick!!!! Let me push this medication down your throat. Can we, for a second, entertain the idea that the world is just boring for children? That living in a flat, sitting in school on a bench, listening to a bored professor is not the most exciting thing in the world. No more connection with nature, with animals, feel, touch, smell, build things, play. We eviscerated interesting things from the environment and now we medicate them when they notice... Shame!
