last sunday, september 29, we went thrifting in the bohemian laid back town of shimokitazawa.
i have blogged about that experience as follows.
| impromptu thrifting at shimokitazawa : September 29 2024 |
in that blog entry, i have mentioned that shimokitazawa has lots of art, whether be it installations or paintings it can be found somewhere in this area.
a mere collage of movie posters plastered on a wall even looked cool to me.
but there was one thing i purposefully did not include in that blog post.
that entry ended with the moon viewing, this is what happened a little bit after that.
that lunar viewing spot was in a maze of fences, and since it was late, fences were closing.
we could not go back the way we came in.
that was when we stumbled upon this mural, and i immediately thought of posting this as an entry to CCC's Street Art Contest #216.
we entered a parking area in the hopes that there was an opening back to the train station, but found ourselves at a dead end.
it was when we turned back when i saw the mural on the side of this store.
hidden from the view of passersby, it was a mural of a tree, probably of one which once stood near the place but was cut down to make way for a parking lot.
or probably it was the hopes and dreams of the painter to see a future world filled with more trees.
or it could just be a cover up to hide the graffiti with a mural instead.
i don't know, but it is beautiful.
the moon installation can even be seen from this angle, it was unassumingly painted on a non-busy area.
it is just sad to see graffiti on the lower left part, but the tree itself was still intact.
don't get me wrong, i know that graffiti is also a form of art, but i would have wanted to see the peaceful tree mural on its own in this case.
this ended our shimokitazawa thrifting journey with a nod back to nature.
on a different note, today is the first of the month, another community effort to boost hp.
for the past months, i have been trying to just increase my hp levels.
occasionally, i receive some hbd and hive and now i fully use them to power up my account.
as i have mentioned before, i just want to share more to those entries i enjoy reading.
i know sometimes the platform can be unforgiving, you pour your soul into writing entries and yet gain little recognition.
i want to at least give more to these people who pours more.
oh well, i am but a ripple in this big wide ocean.
as always, AMPING KANUNAY!
