Question three
If you could swap gender, (male to female or female to male), for one year what benefits or negatives do you envisage, what challenges do you think you'd face and would you consider staying that way permanently, if so why? Is there anything in particular you'd like to do as the opposite gender?
Of Jars and Bars
So, would I like to be a guy for a limited time, oh, yes, of course. For me the gender shift would be all about muscle power and insight.
Let’s talk about muscles, oh yes, let’s…
Don’t get me wrong, I know there are countless women who power-up their muscles, but girls are by God’s design the weaker sex. So, if I could be a guy for a year, I could get so much more done (think digging garden trenches)...and believe me, I’d use the opportunity to do so much. For instance I’d open all the jars in my house and take pictures as proof and put them all up on social media as evidence of my enhanced prowess.
Ease of jar opening would be my number one guy thing. OMG, it would be so worth it to guy-up and eat the marmalade straight out of the bottle without begging my guy.
The next big plus would be all about insight. Imagine if we girls could invade a guy’s brain and actually see what makes them tick…
Imagine, the sweet, sweet revenge that could be had when I swap back to my girly clothes. Imagine voicing exactly what my guy is possibly thinking in any given situation. Oh, blissful fun. Blissful. Of course the entire exercise would only be fair if my guy were offered “equal opportunity” and allowed to morph into a girl for a limited time too. I think he’d be very keen and utterly surprised when he gets into “girl-mode”. Naturally the biggest advantage (for him) would be that he (she) would be left to watch the match on TV WITHOUT BEING CALLED AWAY TO OPEN A RESISTANT JAR. 😘(PS: I always deposit kisses when he complies, but that’s a story for another day.)
| Obviously, there’s a lot more I would investigate and one of the most interesting would be to visit a bar by myself and sit down and order drinks for all the patrons - the bar would have to be full of guys for the experiment to work well. I’d learn something from this; the perspective of insight, that is. Naturally, if it’s an experiment we’d have to have a corollary day when I try this out once I’ve morphed back into girl clothes with high heels. (Fun, fun...fun for all could be the motto for this, but you’d have to be the judge of when it would be safe to shout this out at the bar counter.) | |
Clearly, this morph-period would be the ideal opportunity-year to have a child. Think out of the box for this one; wouldn’t you use this guy-period to have a labor-free birth? Go on admit it guys, there’d be fewer kids on earth if the guys had to face the hospital shears...just saying.
And, no, I’m the faithful sort so I wouldn’t take this “chance” to have more than one kid during the year. (Haha, cross my heart and promise ❤️)
The only things I’d probably really hate about my guy-year would be the obligatory expectation to investigate “bumps” that occur in the dead of night, armed with nothing more than my trusty iPad. And, creepy-crawly spider patrol (as far as I’m concerned chasing spiders is a guy's job. Haha 🕷)
Would I be happy to revert? Of course, I love being a girl and I love it when my guy opens jars for me - it’s sexy, you know? The only thing I might miss about my guy-year is the opportunity to braai (barbecue) at a party without my shirt on and get an all over, upper-body tan so effortlessly.
