Hello Hivers!
Today, I want to take you to this pretty and peaceful place in Tenerife - La Caldera. It's a recreational/camping spot in the pine woods of Tenerife, located 1200 meters above sea level. There is a good bus connection from Puerto de la Cruz and many tourist paths around.
I visited this place when my sister and her friends were visiting Tenerife. The weather wasn't very good in Puerto so we weren't really sure about this trip... but we decided to go and, as you can see, it was an amazing idea as we found ourselves above the clouds!
Originally, we only wanted to take a short walk around Los Organos, a rock formation (you can see it in picture no 2), but in the end, decided to take a longer and much steeper path called Ruta de Agua. For that, we were rewarded with beautiful views of the Teide volcano and surrounding forests (including the burnt slope of Tigaiga mountain that was a result of the 12th biggest wildfire in Canary history that raged in Tenerife at the end of July).
And at the end of the day, we rewarded ourselves with traditional Canarian food in one of my favorite restaurants in Puerto - Meson Los Gemelos.
