On a very hazy day in Tenerife, when my friends were visiting, we decided to take a walk around one of the most famous volcanoes in Tenerife - the Chinyero volcano.
Why is it so famous? It is because Chinyero produced the last eruption recorded on Tenerife - it erupted in November 1909, and lasted for 10 days.
Now, you can take a 6 km circular path around it, walking through lava fields and pine forests, which by a closer look still bear signs of eruptions and fires. On one hand, this place builds respect, on the other, it's absolutely beautiful. So if you're ever in Tenerife and rent a car (not possible to reach this place by bus), I recommend visiting this place to remind you how this island came to being.
