Hi, what’s up, my dear Hivers! It’s been a long time since I last posted on my account. A lot has happened in my life, and I’ve been really busy with my school responsibilities.
This week, I had a reflection activity for a task given by our professor.

First, she made us read the poem “Like a Molave,” and afterwards she asked us to make a drawing based on our understanding of the poem. The worst part? I honestly don’t have any talent in arts, huhu! But luckily, I still managed to overcome it.

After reading the poem, I immediately asked Google for help because I didn’t know what to draw. I needed a sketch as a guide, and yes… Google really helped me a lot!
So this is me working on my assignment.

Since our professor required documentation, I asked a friend to take a picture of me while I was drawing. Huhu, my drawing isn’t that good because I admit I’m not very good at drawing. After sketching, I painted it using acrylic paint to make it colorful and pleasing to the eyes.

Here is my final drawing! To give you a brief explanation, I chose this concept because the poem is all about the nation—the transformation of Filipinos from being weak to becoming a strong nation. Because of the resilience of the Filipino people, they are able to overcome the challenges they face. This drawing highlights how Filipinos grow despite hardships, remaining unselfish and strong like the molave tree, continuing Rizal’s unfinished mission.
