The following reading from Numbers came to me in my daily studies, as part of my power reading the bible in 60 days. The scripture struck me as a directive for all God's people, in how we ought to position our hearts: fear God, not man.
Numbers 22:18 English Standard Version (ESV)
18 But Balaam answered and said to the servants of Balak, 鈥淭hough Balak were to give me his house full of silver and gold, I could not go beyond the command of the Lord my God to do less or more.
Anyone who loves, serves and fears the Lord can do no more than this. Even those who do not love, serve, and fear the Lord while they believe they can, they cannot.
Lord help me remember this truth, Your will be done, Your kingdom come.
