I confess to being not very good at gardening. My grandmother had a green thumb and could grow just about anything. Apparently, those genes were not passed down to me as I have more of a black thumb and most of my plants tend to die on me. The ones that seem to do best are those that receive benign neglect.
Every spring this little blue flower has popped up in my garden. After some research I think I have finally found out what this little flower is called. Chionodoxa or Glory of the Snow. Aptly named as they pushed their little heads out of the dirt very early and had to withstand the snowfalls that came after their emergence.
The internet informs me that they spread easily by multiplying their bulbs and dropping seeds. I can attest to this as they have spread throughout the flowerbed and all through my lawn. I don't mind this as they are a pretty little flower and in a short time they regress back into the ground til the next spring. The bees have been happily visiting them which pleases me as we need all the bees we can get.
