"Eternity in a Reflection"

In the middle of the lush green field rises this tree, a silent witness of time and guardian of a small natural mirror. The calm waters of the lake reflect its silhouette as if trying to duplicate its presence and leave proof of its resilience through the changing seasons. This type of landscape is typical of Florida’s wetlands, where lakes and ponds are part of the ecological balance and home to a wide variety of birds, fish, and insects that depend on this microhabitat.

I have always been passionate about landscapes, and whenever one captivates me, I feel the need to capture it in a photograph. For me, it is a way to stop time and keep a memory of what nature makes me feel at that moment.

The trees surrounding the lake play a vital role: they help keep the soil firm, filter the water, and provide shade for the wildlife living there. Even dry trunks or fallen branches bring life, as they serve as shelter and food for many species. A curious fact is that many of these bodies of water are fed by underground springs, which keep them fresh and clean for most of the year.

Getting closer to this tree step by step is like discovering it from different perspectives: from afar as part of the scenery, and up close as a protagonist full of details.

En medio del verde intenso de un campo abierto se levanta este árbol, testigo silencioso del paso del tiempo y guardián de un pequeño espejo natural. El agua tranquila del lago refleja su silueta como si quisiera duplicar su presencia y dejar constancia de su firmeza ante los cambios de estación. Este tipo de paisaje es típico de las zonas húmedas de Florida, donde lagos y estanques forman parte del equilibrio ecológico y sirven de hogar a una gran variedad de aves, peces e insectos que dependen de este microhábitat.

Siempre he sido un apasionado de los paisajes, y cada vez que uno logra cautivarme, siento la necesidad de capturarlo en una fotografía. Para mí, es una manera de detener el tiempo y guardar un recuerdo de lo que la naturaleza me transmite en ese instante.

Los árboles que bordean el lago cumplen una función vital: ayudan a mantener el suelo firme, filtran el agua y dan sombra a la fauna que allí habita. Incluso los troncos secos o ramas caídas aportan vida, ya que sirven de refugio y alimento a numerosas especies. Un dato curioso es que muchos de estos cuerpos de agua se alimentan de manantiales subterráneos, lo que los mantiene frescos y limpios durante gran parte del año.

Acercarse poco a poco a este árbol es descubrirlo desde diferentes perspectivas: de lejos como parte del paisaje, de cerca como un protagonista lleno de detalles.
