Today I’m excited to share a vector illustration project created in Adobe Illustrator, where I transformed a real-life portrait into a stylized party skeleton character 🧑🎤➡️💀
This piece blends urban street style with character design, giving life (or afterlife 😏) to a skeleton with attitude 🎧🕶️
✨ The Story Behind This Design:
This idea came to me while looking at a casual, relaxed moment — someone enjoying a drink outdoors 🍻🌿. I thought: what if I could reinterpret that same vibe, but through a bold, playful, and rebellious character?
That’s how this fiestero skeleton was born — a symbol of living the moment, no matter what 💥
🖊️ Design Process & Professional Techniques:
I started by importing the photo into Illustrator and used it as a base for vector tracing 🖼️
From there, I built the character using:
Pen Tool (Bezier curves) for precise outlines and smooth contours 📐
Layer structuring to separate key elements (body, clothing, accessories, background) 🗂️
Clean line art with controlled stroke weight for a bold cartoon style 🖋️
Shape simplification to stylize anatomy while keeping the pose dynamic 💃
🎯 Key Artistic Focus:
Exaggerated posture to enhance personality 😎
Strong silhouette for visual readability 🔥
Stylized proportions inspired by street art and urban culture 🎧
🎨 Color & Style:
I used vibrant colors like yellow, purple, and cyan to create contrast and energy ⚡
The character’s outfit and accessories (cap, glasses, boombox) reinforce the urban party vibe 🧢📻
This artwork is about freedom, expression, and enjoying life without limits — even beyond it 💀✨

Este diseño mezcla el estilo urbano con el diseño de personajes, dando vida (o mejor dicho, actitud 😏) a un esqueleto lleno de energía 🎧🕶️
✨ La Historia Detrás del Diseño:
La idea surgió al observar un momento cotidiano: alguien relajado disfrutando una bebida al aire libre 🍻🌿.
Entonces pensé: ¿y si transformo esa misma vibra en algo más creativo, atrevido y diferente?
Así nació este esqueleto fiestero, como símbolo de vivir el momento sin límites 💥
🖊️ Proceso y Técnicas Profesionales:
Primero importé la imagen en Illustrator y la usé como base para el vectorizado 🖼️
Luego construí el personaje utilizando:
Herramienta Pluma (curvas Bézier) para trazos precisos 📐
Organización por capas para separar elementos clave 🗂️
Line art limpio con control del grosor de línea 🖋️
Simplificación de formas para estilizar la anatomía sin perder la pose 💃

Esta obra representa libertad, expresión y disfrutar la vida al máximo… incluso después de ella 💀✨
