Gone are the days when a degree was something one could use to escape poverty. Today, those government retirement funds are no longer effective.

But our parents still think they are. So, they keep encouraging us to go to school, earn degrees, and join the workforce so the government will take care of us when we retire.

We are thankful for the eye-openers around us, who have shown us that we need more than a degree to move toward financial stability and independence.

As you said, we need social capital and financial intelligence. The two can help us reach our financial goals.
