Oh, what a romantic mess
A pile of loving waste
Piercing my heart
Gripping its core
Oh how I longed for no more

Yes, the start was sweet
Strumming the strings of my love
Showing affection
Making connection
Belatedly bittersweet

Still it's one I'll never let go
The pain is worth the while
What mess have I dipped on?
I longed for no more
But still I hold on

The bond is too strong
The chain has been locked
They keys thrown away
Never to be found
This one is forever

Troubled, stormy yet full of love
Disaster looms on the horizon
The storm ready to strike
I am strong! I will overcome!
Oh, what a romantic mess
