Hello, friends!
Walking along the embankment of the Lower Pond in the city of Kaliningrad, I took some pictures. On one of them, the line separating the pedestrian and bicycle paths is clearly visible.
The embankment of the Lower Pond is an excellent recreation area in the center of a big city.
There are benches along the pedestrian and bicycle paths, where it is so pleasant to sit in the shade of lime trees and oaks and admire the swans and ducks swimming on the pond.
The Lower Pond was formed in the 13th century, when the knights of the Teutonic Order, in order to fill the moats around the castle with water, blocked the tributary of the Pregoli River with an earthen dam.
This is the oldest man-made creation in the city of Kaliningrad, which has survived to our time.
