Just when you thought that the winter is over, another cold front suddenly appears bringing lots of rain and pushing the temperatures down. During the last few weeks, it's been a temperature roller coaster here - from minus 20°C to plus 20°C and now back to about 0°C. There was snow in the morning and a thunderstorm in the afternoon. The heating is now on, and I cannot help but try to soothe my annoyance by looking at some old summer photos.

The southern Bulgarian coastline is known for its big resorts (Sunny Beach, Golden Sands, Albena) most of which are desirable destinations for alcohol tourism. Each year, thousands of people from all over Europe travel to these places for the sole purpose of getting wasted with cheap alcohol.

Move a bit to the north, and the coastline changes dramatically - the yellow sandy beaches give way to rocky headlands and high cliffs. Needless to say, there are far fewer tourists wanting to spend their summer holiday up north. Which is a good thing!

One of the stunning places in the north is the National Archaeological Reserve Yailata, which is home to a huge ancient cave city and a rocky cemetery. The graves are bizarre - they are cut directly into the massive rocks, and you cannot help but wonder how they did it.

Well, going through the photos didn't help much. It's still freaking cold outside and in my apartment. I think I will make myself a cup of tea now.
Where do you like spending your summer holidays?
Thank you for reading!
