It's been a long day, I got up unusually early (4 am), I drink a lot of coffee and carpooled with my dad, driving to the other side of Detroit down river near Toledo.
The boat (and Captain) were chartered for the day, dad, myself and three other men.
We used some unusual methods of catching perch, we used short ice-fishing poles, with heavy weights that put the bait down at the bottom of the lake. We waited for the tip to move and set the hook and bring in the perch.
We caught over 100 perch of various sized (many small) and we divided it up among the fishermen.
We cleaned them once we got off the boat.
We had a very fresh fish dinner tonight for the family!
My little boy especially enjoyed the fresh fish!
It's been a long 17 hour day, so I think I'm going to get some rest now. :-)
