These days are flying by so quickly! This is a recap of the Festival of Sukkot celebrated the first week of October. This day is special, since my parents visited for a while. They didn't stay long, but did enjoy touring the campsite. We took a walk to the lake.
Today we visited the small fishing pond on the property. My parents brought our fishing poles (since we forgot them) and the children were very happy about it. After we lovingly sent off the parents, we spent some time at the fishing pond.
The children had some good success catching fish! We are allowed to keep the fish and we are going to enjoy them as a snack! I brought our bible reading for the day with us to the pond.
During the festival, we've been reading a few chapters of Deuteronomy each day. Amazingly, we were reading the chapter about clean and unclean animals fit for eating, while we were fishing!
All that have fins and scales, ye shall eat
It's a beautiful little fishing pond and it was a relaxing time in the sunshine.
We enjoyed "Taco Tuesday" in the big tent - and we brought a special treat for everyone: a big bottle of root beer, our family's favorite.
After diner, the children spent the evening at the playground.
The days are going by quickly and it's amazing to think this experience is almost half-way over. We are creating memories for ourselves and for our children that will last a life-time and encourage us to walk in the good path, associating obedience with fond memories and joy. And we get to look forward to next year!
