If a friend or relative requests you to wear a mask for a time, it is an act of kindness to agree to do that as a personal decision. The issues is mandatory mask wearing (for prolonged periods of time) for no other reason than as a MARK OF COMPLIANCE. There is no other explanation. Depriving the lungs of o2 for hours at a time is not good and I cannot imagine a scenario were that is OK.
