A wonderful day for all fans, when Nvidia finally canceled the controversial Geforce Partner Program (GPP) program officially. There are many reasons why this is so, and manufacturers seem to be genuinely concerned about consumers and markets that are now progressing in a positive direction in terms of competition.
This is revealed in the latest blog from Nvidia, where basically they just want the GPP program has a simple goal - ensuring that gamers know what they buy and can make a clear choice. But in fact it is precisely this thing that becomes something negative for consumers in general, including the media.
Nvidia withdraws the now-famous GeForce Partner Program, citing recent negative comments as the main reason for the sudden cancellation. This statement was in fact the first official corporate response to the alleged fraud that was first revealed in March, with some outlets reporting that the program puts an unfair burden on its partners to align their gaming brand exclusively with Nvidia.
Some AIB partners have even rebranding many of their AMD-based graphics cards moments later, for example, Gigabyte dropped the Aorus moniker from the RX580 Gaming Box and Asus changed the entire range of AMD GPUs with the AREZ series. AMD made a direct response to the soaring reports of its implications, giving more credibility to claims that GPPs could have an effect on how vendors brand their own gaming products.
In the latest blog from Nvidia, they officially shut down the GPP because manufacturers prefer to cancel the program "rather than fighting information errors." The company further dismissed allegations that they made a mistake by claiming that the program was transparent enough, and that nothing was bad present in between.
Of course, this explains that all things can go back in a positive direction, and also affirm that Nvidia is in fact still clean from the evil influence of the anti-competitive GPU market monopoly charge. In fact, if you clearly see the official blog, they can sacrifice something big to avoid misinformation that could make their AIB partners seem "desperate".
Nvidia GPP cancellation provides a reassurance for many, including the media and consumers. We can draw the words back as what the green team responds to as "the category of misinformation", although it certainly has a core as far more controversial to remember.
And it again confirms that the green team is ready to present something phenomenal in its best GPU line, noting that all things are returned to the consumer about the good and bad side, without having to have a special brand that seemed to be monopolized. All the good things back on the green team, which they are basically the main choice in terms of GPU.
