I found the title of the piece a bit amusing. "What did we learn about COVID-19 and the Vaccines to Treat them?"

A vaccine is not a treatment. A vaccine is a preventative measure. A person who has a disease should not take a vaccine for the diseases. Taking a vaccine as a treatment might make the disease worse!

I am not against vaccines; however, I think that the United States did the world a disserve by emphasizing vaccines over treatment.

The US used emergency funding for the vaccine. The law for the emergency funding was contingent on there being no adequate treatments on the market.

This led to a horrible situation in which the medical establishment in the United States discouraged and actively stood against the development of treatments.

Notably, people with impaired adrenal glands failed to naturally produce steroids that prevent "cytokine storms." It was known before COVID that one can reduce hypercytokinemia with steroids, but the CDC forbade the use of steroids.

Early studies showed a direct relation between vitamin-D deficiency and the severity of COVID.

This correlation exists with other diseases.

Some people reported reductions in the viral load with hydrochloriquine and others saw positive results with invermectin. Doctors were prevented from even exploring these results.

Doctors were discouraged from developing actual treatments while large pharmaceuticals concentrated on the vaccine.

A vaccine is a preventative measure. It is not a treatment.

The fact that the medical establishment discouraged the development of treatments should be remembered as one of the biggest health failures in human history.

The confusion between preventative measures and treatments is common ... if not amusing.
