I usually only claim the rewards when they are large and for power up day. Some times it is instant. Other times it takes several hours.

I've made this mistake before. I see I have some rewards to stake in my wallet. There some additional coins to claim. I claim the rewards and end up waiting an hour for the stupid claims reward to go through.

If claiming isn't necessary, then I think I will never look at it again.
