What the world of technology needs now is another accelerator that offers even more support to entrepreneurs and new companies, right?

Normally the answer would be a resounding no. Accelerators abound, and while the original idea was fabulous, emulation and imitation have certainly reduced the standard and efficiency of this startup culture.

However, insert the word blockchain in the sentence and things take on a new form.In this sector, there has been a lot of commercial acceleration, but without real incubators or accelerators to nurture such startups.

One of the new accelerators is Status Incubate , the first of a series of Project Statusinitiatives dedicated to laying the foundations and advancing the mass adoption of the so-called Web3 ecosystem.

Status Incubate wants to promote a broad ecosystem for the decentralized web from a wide range of areas, selecting a handful of new companies every quarter, including projects based on Ethereum, dApps, IoT, base layer protocols, scaling solutions and others.

The initiative will provide a range of services, including initial and standard A funds, legal and regulatory support, technical mentoring and other areas of growth, including research, marketing and the creation of a decentralized organizational business culture.

Applications will be accepted continuously, without a deadline. The Status Incubate team will review each application to select the most robust projects for follow-up interviews. This has always been the case.

"Status Incubate focuses on accelerating the development of the Web3 ecosystem. The initiative has been designed to provide the guidance and support needed to help make the most compelling projects successful, "said Ben Morris, Head of Status Incubate.

The holding company is Status, an application based on Ethereum that offers users the possibility to chat, make transactions and access a world of dApps, while protecting privacy and creating a community where everyone can join and contribute.

Status is currently under development, after a successful sale of SNT tokens that raised more than US $ 100 million in Ether in less than 24 hours, and is working on the platform towards a Beta to offer "an optimal user experience".

Status Incubate is recent among blockchain accelerator games, but it is not the first.Earlier this year, Chinese retailer JD.com announced at Forbes that it was launching its own accelerator for blockchain startups and Artificial Intelligence.

The accelerator, known as AI Catapult, and based in Beijing, will have emerging companies working together with their operating teams to "test the real-world applications of their technologies at scale," JD.com reported in its corporate blog .

The first companies involved are the Chinese fintech company Bankorous, Bluzelle, a database service powered by blockchain based in Singapore, and Nuggets, a payment platform and e-commerce ID built in blockchain located in London.

The panoply of global technology accelerators shows no signs of disappearing, and consolidation would not be a bad idea, but in the space of the block chain, they are now a crucial part of the ecosystem. And, surely, more will come.
