I am living in the valley, and we never have snow here. Surrounding the valley, there are mountains. Some of them are not that tall, but some of them over 7,700 feet. The water we are using are from the snow of these mountains.
This weekend we drove over these mountains to the city of other side. I have a chance to take some awesome pictures from the highway. This year again is our drought year. That means we did not have much rain in the valley so far and also the snow in the mountain. The raining season in here is from October to April, and we would not have much rain from May to September. Luckily, I still saw some people skied on the peak of the mountain even in mid-March.
The ski resorts are the world class in these mountains. Lake Tahoe is on the other side of the mountains, and the Winter Olympic have been held there in 1960. I went to ski there couple times, but I am not good at it.
It was not cold in the valley at all, but it was very chill like 33 degree on the peak of the mountains. After we arrived to the city of other side, it's not cold like 65 degree. It was hard to imagine how different of the temperature in the elevation 7200 feet mountain if I did not drive there.
