As the title says, this is the main arts classroom in the school I'm studying the Master Degree in Art Direction. I have to clarify that the class is much bigger than this. The entire four walls of the class are wrapped with draws and plans, we have a bunch of computers and even irons and ironing boards. It really is a class which transmits an "artsy" vibe where you feel kind of comfortable with creating.
This was the first class I saw on my first day. I was completely terrified. First, because I wasn't sure I was doing right. I just finished a Master Degree in Film and Television Production, which gave me some new knowledge but it was horribly organised and it didn't satisfied me as much as I would wanted. And second because of my incredible fear of dealing with new and unknown people. I have this awkward social anxiety that makes me suffer a lot when I have to face this type of events alone. But I survived.
Unfortunately, we are not able to have much class there, I guess because other more important classes are given. I took this photo today, having fun with a camera it was left us to record some stuff for an exercise in class. It was a Canon 7D with a 17-55 Canon lens, pretty pretty cool.
This exercise we had to do today, in a little bit of a rush, it was about creating a character of our own, in groups of 6. After, we should record some shots of that character trying to express its personality in some way. One of my classmates had this idea of a very fancy and stylish scientific police investigator and try to trick the viewers, making them think that she's a magazine CEO or a fashion designer, but suddenly showing them she's actually investigating a murder. With that idea in mind, we decided to create a bit of a space instead of just writing a quick script and make one of us learn it so fast. So we played with the space, the atrezzo and the expressive movements of the character. Today, I was in charge of the camera, so I tried to get comfortable with it (I haven't worked with Canon before) and try to do something actually presentable.
These are some screenshots of the clips I recorded of the space we built together:
This was just a practice we did in like 4 hours, with stuff we found around and some we could buy for less than 5€. At least it worked better than we expected and did a pretty good team work.
