Greetings everyone, today I join the Hive Challenge: Community Celebration proposed by@guiltyparties to write about my favorite community, for me it could not be other than Needleworkmonday, here I tell you my reasons for choosing this community and why I consider it one of the best on the blockchain.
Since I started on the blockchain my content was mostly focused on knitting tutorials, specifically amigurumis, which consist of three-dimensional figures crocheted, at that time I speak of the time before Hive, there was very little content that was produced on that topic, without wanting to brag I remember being the only one in the Latin American community that published such content, at that time only published in Spanish as most Latin Americans, I remember that for needlework, whether knitting, sewing or embroidery, there was no space properly speaking, my content was always curated by people who supported the art in general, but let's say it was difficult to find a space dedicated only to this, at that time even the curators did not know they had learned the name amigurururmi, so in the channels of discord I was known as Irene "the one who makes the dolls", it was not until long after that that I started to publish my content in Spanish, but it was difficult to find a space dedicated only to this. it wasn't until much later that I received a comment from the dear@crosheille founder of this community, she supported my post and suggested me to post also in english and use the hashtag #needleworkmonday, I didn't do it immediately because let's be honest at that time when my post got a high vote I received it from a spanish speaking curation project that had as a rule to support only content in that language, but it took a long time until the communities were formed and Hive was born, when I found the news of the creation of Hive many things changed for me, now I publish in both languages and so from that moment I started to publish most of my content in Needleworkmonday, finding the wonderful news that now all the creators of this type of content had a place, this home continued to grow and every day more needleworkers who do many types of work, including amigurumis, were joining, finally I did not feel alone, I found wonderful women who were dedicated to the same passions as me.
One of the things I want to highlight regarding the importance of Needleworkmonday as a community is that its creation was necessary, I know what I mean when I say that curating this type of content is not easy, I studied a degree in visual arts at the university and since always the boundaries between art and crafts are blurred in many ways, not to mention the artistic current of textile art, fiberart, needle painting and much more, in museums around the world are exposed even basketry pieces giving it its attribute of art, then even if one performs a sleeping bag, there will always be someone who says it is art, There will always be someone who will say it is art while another person will say it is handicraft, the same thing happens with needlework, for my part it was difficult for me to see how previously in a healing project they had the possibility to support few publications with the theme of art, then my amigurmis entered there sharing place with a digital painting, because there was no other place to put my amigurumi and other creations, that is, the creation of communities with a specific theme helps not only curators but also content creators to find their niche, so Needleworkmonday is a unique and special community for me.
Since I have been in the Needleworkmonday community I have met wonderful people who share amazing content, outside of Hive this content is always prepaid or hard to find, but in this community most of us share tutorials of great value and we do it with all the love in the world and all the good will, there is content from a little bit of everything but within the same area, that's why it's easy to get inspired from the work of fellow community members, I feel very excited to see how much creativity exists among Hive users that are condensed in Needleworkmonday especially on Mondays where it's a trending day because they always highlight the publications of the people there.
Needleworkmonday has allowed me to develop my skills in needlework and crochet, as well as in sewing, embroidery and even macramé, but it is also a place to share our experiences, our mistakes, our unsuccessful projects and even those emotional lows that a needlework project that did not go as we wished, is a place where each of the creators understands what the other is going through, On one occasion I commented to one of the most active users of the community that many of us suffer from the same diseases, I mean joint ailments or arthritis, cervical problems and most of us wear glasses, because we have all dedicated our body and soul to the needlework and this brings happiness and some physical conditions, so there is a great empathy in the community.
Concurso en el que participé/ Contest in which I participated
This community is always in motion, always make their reports of healing and outstanding post, promote contests and initiatives, I have participated in many of these contests and I have also proposed contests within the community, the moderators have supported me and we have given awards to users who have excelled in their creations, so far I have proposed 3 initiatives or challenges, the first one was to show how they have improved their manual skills, that is to say to make a kind of comparison of previous and present works, the second one was a challenge of 7 days with a Halloween theme and the third one was an initiative to make an exchange of handmade gifts for Christmas, I was moved to see so much participation in each of my proposals and I felt the great support that the community has with each of its users.

On the other hand, every time I find a new Hive user posting content related to needlework, I invite them to Needleworkmonday, because I feel that it is our home and can still host many more talented people because we all support each other here.
