There are many such abandoned homesteads and neglected orchards in this region. However, these orchards are not entirely useless.The old apple, pear, and plum trees still bear fruit regularly, creating a natural pantry for wild animals. While on site, I saw clear tracks left by roe deer, red deer, moose, and wild boars that frequently come here to feed. Unfortunately, I was unable to capture any clear photos of them. The fruit scattered on the ground will remain an important food source for them long after the frost sets in and the snow falls.
Takich opuszczonych siedlisk i zaniedbanych sadów jest w tym regionie sporo. Z tym że te sady nie są całkowicie bezużyteczne. Stare jabłonie, grusze i śliwy wciąż regularnie owocują, tworząc dla dzikich zwierząt naturalną spiżarnię. Podczas pobytu na miejscu widziałem wyraźne ślady obecności saren, jeleni, łosi oraz dzików, które regularnie przychodzą tutaj żerować. Niestety nie udało mi się zrobić im wyraźnych zdjęć. Zgromadzone na ziemi owoce będą stanowiły dla nich ważne źródło pożywienia jeszcze długo po nadejściu mrozów i spadnięciu śniegu.
The trees themselves also play a crucial role here. The old, massive trunks are full of natural hollows and crevices, providing a safe shelter for squirrels and many smaller creatures. In the spring, these nooks will turn into nesting sites for birds to build their nests and raise their young. Even though this place is abandoned by humans, it remains a thriving ecosystem for the local wildlife.

Choć dla człowieka to miejsce jest opuszczone, dla lokalnej przyrody stanowi tętniący życiem ekosystem.
In nature, nothing goes to waste, and the end of one organism's life becomes the beginning for many others. The decaying, dying tree trunk shown in the photo has been almost completely overtaken by numerous bracket fungi. While this marks the final stage for this particular tree, it is a crucial moment for the entire ecosystem. These fungi decompose the dead organic matter, releasing valuable nutrients back into the soil. In this way, the dead wood gives life to the next generations of plants and organisms in this old orchard.
W naturze nic się nie marnuje, a koniec życia jednego organizmu staje się początkiem dla wielu innych. Widoczny na zdjęciu obumierający, spróchniały pień drzewa został niemal całkowicie zdominowany przez liczne owocniki grzybów (hube).
