I visited this cafe on my first ever 3-days consecutive holiday break in HCMC during the Vietnam National Day celebration. This was also my first ever weekend break and all by myself; Saturday till Monday.

What would I do ?

Be a potato couch and continue creating good content for Steemit ? I needed ideas and I needed fresh air as well. Reaching out to Mr Google and Mr Tripadvisor as my best companions, The Workshop was on my list to visit on this day.

Good thing is that The Workshop is located in District One and near to the Walking Street which I am familiar with. Breakfast or Brunch; whichever you may call it was the meal for me. Tripadvisor gave them a 4.5 rating with very decent good reviews from previous diners in the last couple of weeks/months. One thing for sure is that if you're a newbie like me, Mr Tripadvisor is your best pal when checking out any new restaurant or cafe.

The entrance from the main road - NONE !
This is the same for most restaurants in this town. The thing I learned is that the best places to eat don't have an entrance facing the main road. They are usually located behind some back alley or on the upper floors , hidden from plain sight. Walking through a motorbike parking lot (this is designated for diners of The Workshop), up the staircase (2 flights of stairs) and finally I reached my destination. The ceiling of the stairway was bright from the see-through sun rays from above and the railing / surrounding walls of the building was antique and old. Just like any old heritage building. It was impressive to see how they have preserved this building.

I was greeted by a tall sliding glass door and as I walked in, it felt like a We Works cafe outlet. There were small tables of 2 by the side and in the centre is the bar with 2 other large wooden tables where people shared areas to enjoy their food and beverages. Many were on working on their devices, be it phones or laptops while others were engaged in their own private conversations. Since getting a table all by myself seemed challenging, I opted a seat on the big wooden table sharing with others.

The menu options was good, but I still referred back to Mr Tripadvisor for the recommended selection, Workshop Eggs Benedict since this is something which I doubt I could prepare myself at home. And when it arrived, it was no disappointment at all. The portion was good and taste was just above the clouds. They have definitely lifted up to their promise of being a great breakfast diner. Of course, I also surveyed what others were ordering and it all looked just as good as they said it was.

Service was good and I ordered a healthy watermelon cold pressed juice to complete my meal. Without a question I made the right decision by coming here and undoubtedly will return here again to try out the other items on the menu.
