It's been a couple of days since my last post & I thought I'll write something about what I actually do.

Well, my day job is working in a hotel 馃槑

When I do tell my friends that I work in a 馃彥 their 馃憖 open wide. Many felt that I was so fortunate to have such a luxurious environment to work in.

It does have its perks such as free food & wine tasting to name a few 馃槡. But the lives of a hotelier is tough. Our duties is to serve our guests be it, right or wrong, we鈥檙e to fulfill their deepest desires at times.

Someone once told me that, if they can dream we can deliver. How true it is, I鈥檓 not sure. But we definitely will go through great lengths to please our guests. So what happens when I travel to another hotel ?

I tend to scrutinise in a nice manner the hotels I鈥檝e been either for business or leisure. *I can鈥檛 help it ! * It鈥檚 in our blood to check out the competition. Of course, we learnt some new tricks & best practices from each other. I鈥檒l even take photos of the room layout, dining areas & bathroom amenities & share it with my colleagues.

You never know what you鈥檒l find out when you start opening up the drawers

A life as a hotelier isn鈥檛 easy but yet it鈥檚 always exciting. There鈥檚 so many stories to tell about behind the scenes which many doesn鈥檛 know.
Water pipes leaking in bedrooms, overly loud couple next door banging away, stolen tv or mini bars from the bedrooms, overbooking the hotel rooms & moving guests to another hotel....

Stories like these are plenty. Yet we choose silently not to reveal it鈥檚 secret. Something like a cult agreement. Then, everyone will know our tricks of the trade 馃槃

One day, one fine day... perhaps I will share one of its many secrets...馃憣

Next time you stay in a hotel, remember to take the bathroom amenities & coffee/tea sachets. It's all part of what you've already paid in your room rate. If you don't take it, it'll just be passed on to the next guests.
