FutureHack2019 Application now open

FutureHack, the national technology hackathon event, in which computer programmers and others involved in software development, including graphic designers, interface designers, project managers, domain experts (and others) collaborate intensively on software projects in now on.

This year, the focus is to find clearly defined ideas and prototypes on e-Health, e-Education and e-Agriculture. Participants are allowed to express creativity and are encouraged to develop unique solutions with an emphasis on using the latest technology. FutureHack is an initiative of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA).

It will hold in 3 Geopolitical zones;

  1. North Central Nile University, Abuja (FCT)
  2. North West Ahmadu Bello University (ABU)
  3. South West Obafemi Awolowo University, Ife (OAU)

For eHealth, identified problem areas include:
1. Drug abuse
2. Patient care and management
3. Healthcare in rural areas
4. Sanitation in healthcare facilities
5. Epidemics
6. Hazardous working conditions
7. Mental health and suicides

For eHealth, identified problem areas include:
1. Drug abuse
2. Patient care and management
3. Healthcare in rural areas
4. Sanitation in healthcare facilities
5. Epidemics
6. Hazardous working conditions
7. Mental health and suicides

For eEducation, identified problem areas include:
1. In and out of school children and youth
2. Quality assurance and quality control in education
3. Gender divide in education and ICT
4. Affordable quality education
5. Teacher traning/recertification

For any of the above categories, the applicant is required to:

  1. Give a detail person profile
  2. A brief discussion of his or her idea
  3. Attach an executive summary of the solution his or she is providing (PDF file only).
  4. Describe his or her working experience with APIs if any.
  5. Outline his or her experience building Mobile/Web/Desktop solution if any.
  6. Point out his or her experience working with Geospatial data if any.
  7. What he or she intend to achieve from this Hackathon.

Applicants working with other people as a groups is required the name and Gender of the other persons(Maximum of 2 persons).

The call for application for all the 3 categories is now open until the 28th June 2019.
