It's no secret Reddcoin has taken a beating for over 2 years. Between Rumors, Gossips, & Goals not being met. Weathering through the storm has been rough but things may be looking brighter for Reddcoin in 2018.

Yes it has been hard with rumors of dev teams abandoning Reddcoin and new devs coming in later on, Goals of Facebook integration, Redd-ID launch, and other projects not being met and Reddcoin nearly silent for months while investors and reddheads constantly ask what's going on, only to be left to their own speculations. Gossip & Rumors: From the start of Reddcoin, there have been hopes of Reddcoin being used over multiple social media platforms #Facebook being one of them. Four years later it still hasn’t happened. Recently Mark Zuckerberg mention looking into #cryptocurrency and the #blockchain in a post. This #news seemed to excite the Reddcoin enthusiast(Reddheads), which started rumors of Facebook may be adding Reddcoin in the near future. I’m sure these optimistic rumors are based on the once thought marriage of Reddcoin and Facebook that never happen.

Summary:

Reddcoin evolution hasn't been that great. A few of the noticeable changes since it started in 2014 has been the logo from a red alien on a gold coin, to the vibrant colorful eye-catching coin bank with a red token. ( a coin tipping a coin ), also the switch from POW to POSV in April of 2014. Every Reddcoin user will automatically become a PoSV minter.
Reddcointalk.org has also announced Dec 7, 2017, they have switched to Electrum-based wallets so no one has to rely on generated long key coded wallets.

Reddcoin Redd-ID allows a user to associate a username with public keys and their social network identities. When creating a username using Redd-ID there will be a fee that varies depending on the name. Redd-ID has been in the works for over a year with a promise to be launched near the end of 2017, currently we are in the 1st Quarter 2018 Redd-Id has not launched and no official word when as of yet.
