I am not sure if this is the right place but I would just like to know why the previous Steem and now Hive social platform does not have a private messaging/instant chat feature.
If I want to contact a blog author in private, there should be a feature to do so. It would also boost hive adoption.
I am not sure what level of development effort would be required to add this feature and how the messages between the users can be kept private from blockchain explorer but it would be one of the best features of HIVE platform.
