Round 2 of crypto meetups at my bar here in Mexico is in the books. There were 6 of us this time, including me. It wasn't really advertised, so I was pretty happy with the turnout. Cory, who is organizing these, is going to do more marketing with it to try and round up some more like minded people who want to learn more about the ecosystem.

The first presenter gave a great explanation on how to wash your crypto. There still is no way that I know of to do that, and then turn it into fiat besides local bitcoin or something similar. But maybe soon enough there will be.

The steps to do this are easy for most anyone to do, although it can be a pain in the ass to do it all. But at the end of the day, if you value privacy, you gotta be willing to do the hard work to make it so.

Here was the snapshot of the screen with instructions, if you want to know how to do it yourself.

Sorry for the quality :(

I learned a lot from it, so I was appreciative of his time and work putting it together.

On top of that, everyone was interested in learning more about HIVE!

Justin, a crypto day trader, was surprised to learn that SPS and LEO were HIVE tokens, as he has traded them in the past, based simply on their tokenomics and charts. He knows a good deal when he sees one and makes his living down here in Mexico day trading cryptos.

I didn't dive too deep on anything, but hit on the basics like the 3 different types of Hive currencies, how the social media aspect works, the best things about hive imo like 3 second transaction fees which are essentially free.

-You own your content
-Fully decentralized
-Non-immutable accounts
-Get paid for your content, etc....

Also briefly touched on Splinterlands (gaming on HIVE), and the SPK network which everyone was excited to learn more about after hearing about it previously elsewhere.

All in all, it was a good and fun time and I am looking forward to the next one.

Who knew there was such a crypto/freedom loving community all the way down here in ole Meh-he-co?

I didn't.

Thanks for reading y'all, Hive on!
