With ruleset Archon selection with right card lead me to halfway of victory
What’s up, everyone? It’s me, @intishar, once again here. Splinterlands battles are getting more interesting, and after reaching the gold league, I am finding tough opponents with good strategy. From the choices of Archon to the placement of cards, all are part of the strategy, and sometimes the ruleset of Splinterlands battles plays the most crucial part in a battle. Sometimes, Archon selection with the ruleset leads us halfway to victory, and Today I am going to share such an interesting battle, and perhaps you will like my strategy.
I love to play battles using water elements as well as using the Archon “Marlai Singariel”. And most of the battles I won easily because of the magic ability to attack the opponent’s unit, ignoring the defense, but this time I choose different Archon. The ruleset was “Fates Certanity: Affiction, Poison, Poison Brust, and Stun have 100% chance to trigger” and “Anemic: Max health, at the start of the battle is 4”. Seeing the ruleset I deployed the different strategy. But I didn’t want to face battle against the water elements, but my fear came true.
The maximum mana cap was 54, which was decent enough to select cards freely, but because of the Anemic ruleset, I choose to use the “Thalgrimore” Archon. My thoughts were simple. Opponent’s max health would be 4, and using the Archon, it would reduce the opponent’s unit life into 3, and if I use the “Sorrow Harvester” it would reduce the health into 2. Fair enough to create opportunities for me. So naturally my first card was “Nim Guard Captain” that was quite effective against the magic attack power and the speed and armor were 3, which was good enough to select as my first card. The second card was the “Vengeful Monk,” which was one of my favorites, and it was selected especially for using snipe attack and with a single attack it could take down a card if there was no armor in the opponent’s unit while the opponent's health was reduced to 2.
“Sorrow Harvester” was placed in the third position especially for reducing the health of opponents, and additionally it had 2 magic attack power, which was like a bonus for me, and in the 4th position, “Little Sister” was placed. Its health was 3, but it could increase its life with each successful attack on the opponent unit, and I felt this one could change the situation if necessary, and the placement was enough to keep it survive for a decent time, and it’s enough to give damage to the opponent.
For attacking first non-melee units, “Lenore Nevermore” deserves the place for having 2 ranged attack power. I tried to spread my attack across different units, as opponents had only 2 health from the beginning. So, I believe that this one was the right choice in that position. And in the last position, “Black Widow” was selected. I selected for having 2 ranged attack power, but it had 1 armor and I thought that 1 armor could be useful unless opponent use magic attack to the last unit. It was like a gamble but there was nothing to lose if armor was not useful.
My opponents were not bad. Some of my strategy failed to perform like snipe attack using “Vengeful Monk” but I managed to win the battle for the selecting right Archon and “Sorrow Harvester” and the victory was quite satisfying to me as my strategy worked out and I also learned that it would be better if I placed “Vengeful Monk” 3rd or 4th position I would win the battle easily. I recommend you watch the battle. Here is the
