I wrote this for BCP Prompt - Stranger that is a weekly prompt to get the creative juices flowing.
It took me a hot minute to think about a topic for this one. So I decided to put myself in the place of an outside observer looking in on our little alien ant farm, and described what I saw on my visit before exiting this universe.
Billions of third dimensional inhabitants, that think and act in only two dimensions... living out their lives destroying everything they touch. There were a few of them that desired more.. but not enough to change direction. Needless to say it was a disappointing trip.
They are blind and refuse to open their eyes to see the untapped potential that they each possess, unable to live in harmony within their enclosure. Shame that. 😌
So let's get it goin on shall we?
This world is a brutal yet beautiful sphere
Inhabitants trapped blindly in their duality
Never reaching potential stuck in first gear
Doomed to repeat the loop upon their fatality
I am a traveler from a far distant shore
A stranger observing your strange lands
Your vehicles in a state of tug-of-war
Sensing with dead eyes and lead hands
You are fully capable of much more
Yet unable to see what is in store
When your leaders all demand the great war
Your missing the mark and skipping the door
Your left hand hellbent on destruction
Your right hand is absolute creation
Inability to link makes for desolation
Carry on and there will be no salvation
The road is wide but the way is narrow
Blend light and dark escape the sorrow
Embrace both selves be conscious of love
Wise as a serpent and blessed as a dove
Opening the gate I will be on my way
Join me when you finally clutch gray
