Festivals are organised in various nations but the Calabar Carnival is more than a festival,for it gives room for reunions. Calabar is a city in one the States in south south Nigeria. The Carnival was nicknamed Africa's Biggest Street Party because it draws a lot of people from various locations world over to Nigeria annually. It was organized in order to make Calabar an international tourist destination. The festival takes place from the 1st to the 31st of December every year, During the carnival 5 bands namely : Seagull, Passion 4, Masts Blasta, Bayside and Freedom compete for a huge cash price. 26 countries took part in last years,the festival also features essay competitions,bikers carnival, boat regattas, traditional dances, masquerade parade, and musical performance from international artiste such as Rick Ross and local artistes. Every December all routes leads to Nigeria to get down on the Carnival,hope to see you soon.
