Humans are gonna do what humans are going to do. Assume the best, act the worst, ignore all warnings until it's undeniable because FOMO.

As for the pic being where you are... for all I know it might be. I'm pretty sure it's the aftermath of a storm, but you never can tell these days. I just search in stock photos for something that fits the theme of my tale and go with the best fit.
