Where calamity reigns -- Luna
"Maybe you should check what the transit sigil is before activating it," Halek the Druid shouted to Poik the Magnificent. Their voice was lost to the howling wind and thunderous eruptions. He could have amplified his voice, but all his energy was devoted to shielding the Adventurers from the concatenating disasters around them.
The little Kobold Wizard was busy scribing notes. "Poik learn for next time." Ze could make everyone heard, since ze had the spell slots for that. "Also look up spell for finding next sigil."
Their Cleric, Liskar, was on hir knees with hir holy symbol secreted in hir hands. Whispering hir prayers as she always did. Kalkrek was nearby, as always, ready with her sword and shield for anything she could fight or defend against.
Alas, it was futile to attempt to fight natural phenomena.
"They're coming," said Liskar. "Oh. My god." Ze stood, smiling. "I knew this would cause great upset, but she likes that. He might be benevolent as a result, and if it gets us out of here... I'll pay that price."
A cosmic form coalesced out of lightning, volcano plumes, and fire. The figure was beautiful, even with their scarred lips. Those unfamiliar could not immediately discern the figure's gender. "Who dares enter my realm?" it thundered.
"Oh my god, can you not?" complained Liskar. It was an order of sorts. "I summoned you, because my friends need to get back to safety. Preferably when and where they came from."
The gigantic figure chuckled, and they were suddenly middling-size and amongst them. Nevertheless, there was a sense that they were dimensionally transcendant. This apparent-Human was a mere fraction of what they could truly be. They were more real than the reality of being close to death inside a maelstrom of mishaps.
Halek almost lost hold of their magical shield. "Loki? You're Liskar's patron deity?"
"Say it with more of a sneer," Loki cooed. "Your fortune depends on my favour."
"Please?" said Liskar. "Please put my friends safely back when and where they came from?"
Loki sighed. "Ugh... the voice of a kind-hearted devotee... my only weakness. Fine." A finger-snap, and three of the four were back when and where they came from.
They had just enough time to wonder what happened to Liskar when ze, too, appeared in the chamber.
"So... yeah. I worship Loki," ze said. "He's not as evil as everyone says she is, all right?"
