They had them in, of all things, a bird cage. They were NOT a bird, not exactly anyway. Idiots left the door open. Wasn't long before the enemy was drugged, hog-tied, and an SOS was being sent out for a rescue. -- Anon Guest
Také could be willing to believe these people had made an honest mistake. It was a world uninhabited by cogniscent life when the other party stunned him and locked him in here. On the other hand, they could have scanned first and learned something.
Then, just as he was about to ask the approaching cogniscents for some water, he heard what they were saying.
"This one's going to make us some mega profits in Ubermercado. Their main man will take anything for his zoo. Well. Anything he's never seen before."
Ah. Fine. Understood. They were assholes. Criminal assholes, to boot.
Lucky for him, Také's best friend Broos had taught him some very Human tricks against any given enemy.
Step one. Play weak and dumb. Také played up being groggy and limp as they filled up a container with basic food and clean water.
Step two: Observe. Take notes. Look for an opportunity. Také did so with a mind to continuing with step one.
Step three: As soon as it's safe - escape. Také's captors under-estimated him, and left him in what was essentially a birdcage. Even very smart birds could figure out the locking mechanism. It was no problem to lift the latch in a quiet moment and gain freedom.
Step four: Seek concealment, seek weapons, and remember all the fun things one can do with ordinary household chemicals. Very simple. This ship was a maze of mess and sloppy engineering. Things were stored in neglected corners that were hidden behind other storage solutions.
Cripes. He could smuggle the population of half a Deregger world in these gaps. Judging strictly by the patina of those areas, that wasn't the plan for this crew.
Step five: Act. Take down the enemy, incapacitate them, and then hijack the ship straight to the nearest CRC facility.
The optional step six, according to Broos, was "pee on everything they own". Také decided to skip that one. The ship was filthy enough as it was.
Také had to build himself an improvised livesuit so he would be protected from the gas he flooded the ship's air system with. He also took the precaution of body-locking all the abductors' livesuits. If they were smart enough to get into their livesuits, they could walk up to ten steps before they could no longer move.
Také set it all in motion, and watched the fallout via an appropriated security feed. Once they were all out, he ventured forth and incapacited them via some of their own cuffs.
He scrubbed the air as he set the new course. Turning away from yet another deregger world and towards relative safety. He also made sure all the logs were backed up so the authorities could have a full list of all the crimes and everywhere they happened.
One down... so very many others yet to go.
