The pirate captured the human for ransom. The human is having tummy problems and lays on the cool floor to try to ease the ache. Human nearly gasses the pirates into unconsciousness. -- Fighting Fit

Some might say they were the luckiest Pirates ever to roam the Alliance's Edge. That opinion varies once the full disclosure of their exploits comes to bear. Their most notable capture was also their downfall.
It's rare, indeed, that Havenworlders could even threaten a Human, let alone capture one. These pirates crewing the Pen's Aunts had managed it because Human Lutz was not feeling well.
"Must'a been something I ate," ze complained. "Can I lie down? Your floor's looking real friendly, right now."
Considering that a prone or supine Human was more controllable, they let hir. That was not their mistake. Their mistake was removing the Human from hir livesuit so that ze would be more vulnerable.
The livesuit that also contained a multitude of hazardous Deathworlder biological emissions.
Human Lutz spent most of hir time rumbling and moaning on the floor whilst the crew of the Pen's Aunts bragged about their capture. They almost didn't notice other borborygmus noises emanating from the Human.
They certainly noticed the adulteration of the shipboard atmosphere.
A Human's sulphurous eructations are mostly harmless. The bacterial out-wash is generally contained by clothing, but that does not discount the psychological effects of the stench.
The Pen's Aunts surrendered an hour after the first gaseous assault. They were eager to give Human Lutz back to hir crew, who wheeled hir off for some charcoal treatment.
If the Human had been able, everyone agreed, the entire debacle would never have happened.
